Engineering in Action
One example of Gibson’s engineering approach involved developing a continuous inline blast system for processing chain products ranging from ¼-inch links to 4-inch links.
The customer required:
- Continuous inline processing
- Multiple chain sizes on the same system
- Loading and unloading from bins
- Automated chain handling
- Production rates up to 1,500 feet per hour on smaller chain sizes
Rather than modifying an existing machine, Gibson engineered a custom system based on an inline roller conveyor platform that repeatedly exposed the chain to the blast pattern while allowing efficient loading and unloading from a single operator location. The result was a fully integrated production solution designed specifically around the customer’s manufacturing process.
Why Partner with Gibson?
The most successful wheel blast systems are those engineered around the production process—not simply the part being blasted.
Gibson’s engineering team works closely with manufacturers to evaluate applications, identify production challenges, and develop integrated blasting solutions that improve throughput, reduce manual handling, and deliver consistent surface preparation.
Whether your application can be addressed by one of Gibson’s proven inline platforms or requires a completely custom-engineered solution, our goal remains the same: to design a wheel blast system that supports your manufacturing process today while providing the flexibility to meet tomorrow’s production demands.
If your application presents unique challenges, we’d welcome the opportunity to evaluate your parts, review your production process, and engineer the right solution for your operation.
